Today's elementary classrooms offer many opportunities to talk about patriotism, national symbols and added this year, a mandatory law to observe the Constitution. Unfortunately many of the images related to our national symbols and imagery are tied to battles and war. I am interested in using a inquiry based learning project in an elementary classroom, to explore ideas, people, events and movements that used peaceful means of problems solving.
